I don't think this includes any readers here, but I know that there are some normals out there who keep hoping against hope that this or that employee within the Deep State is going to be the courageous exception and actually turn over the rocks and expose the crawly things underneath and advance the cause of justice.
Forget it. "Thanks for nothing, John Durham".
The final act of this pretend investigation is the current trial of Igor Danchenko, both a contributor to the absurd Steele dossier and a paid FBI informant. John Durham's making the case that Danchenko tricked the poor, gullible FBI into investigating both candidate and president Trump. That would be the same poor, gullible FBI that later hired Danchenko simply to protect their lying Feeb behinds. Whether Danchenko is acquitted or gets a slap on the wrist depends on whatever ending the Deep State would like to serve up to the public, nothing more.
Until the satraps of the Deep State start to feel some pain, nothing will change, and I flat-out do not believe that one of their own is going to be up to the job of administering the necessary smack downs.
As a retired federal employee who had some minor visibility of the Deep State in action, I can only agree.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately.
The Deep State is VERY well insulated, and acts with impunity. They simply don't care about anything but the boundaries of their own empires.
I worked at a relatively small federal agency, but the general assumption of "protection" was evident.
ReplyDeleteAnd the general attitudes about politics! It's like they all ate the editorial page of the Washington Post for breakfast, and then spent the rest of the day regurgitating it. There were quite a few Republicans, nonetheless, and some "independents" who were basically Republicans with the labels torn off because they didn't want to be chided by their liberal pals. God, I hate D.C.
God, I hate D.C.
ReplyDeleteDitto. And I only visited there a few times! I could SMELL the sense of entitlement during telecons. And that sense was passed down to the rank and file across the nation.
Yeah, they HATED conservatives. My area of responsibility included much of Idaho, and those clowns in DC hated doing anything for them.
I just visited last week. It's gotten more DC, or maybe I've gotten used to a less narcissistic and flashy/flaunting culture. Everything from parking to ordering food at the ballpark requires an app. No parking meters in Arlington/Crystal City, you pay with an app.
ReplyDeleteI didn't quite arf and honk my squeezy bulb when Durham started throwing fish, but I did hope that this time, This Time!, something would happen. Embarrassing.
Sure we make fun of all the Get Trump! stuff, but we're played the same way.
Just wait until the Hunter Biden "investigation" gets into full swing. We ain't seen nothing yet (nor are we likely to).
