But you haven't seen any lately, so here they are.
Cal working on a Jack-o'-lantern:
Finished product (I believe he had just the tiniest bit of help from his dad):
Maggie has taken up the violin (I guess they're still saving up for the bow):
"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Fine looking kids Paco. Guessing they take after Mrs P in that department.
ReplyDeleteWait. What happened? Wasn't it just a year or two ago that Maggie was a toddler? Now she's a big girl learning to play the violin? Dang, it's no wonder I feel so old now.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll ask this before everyone else: what are their ages?
BTW, I think a proper grandfather would dip into his retirement savings and buy the poor little girl a bow. :-)
Mick: They favor their father, who favors his mother, so, yes, that's Mrs. Paco's influence. And thank God for that! A grocery store cashier once told me that I looked like Stephen King. she positively beamed when she said it, as it she were paying me a compliment. I was horrified, of course: Stephen King looks like a bespectacled toad.
ReplyDeleteR-Man: Yes, but you see, we're going to visit my son and his children in a couple of weeks, and if Maggie had a bow, she might, you know, practice while I'm there.
She sure is growing up. I got a text today from her mother with a video showing Maggie operating a front end track loader - not a Bobcat, but something similar. She was scooping up dirt and dumping it like a pro.
A heavy equipment operator/violinist.
ReplyDeleteNow that's a pretty specialized career choice.
R-Man: Forgot t0 answer your question: Maggie is now 10, and Cal is 5.
ReplyDeleteR-Man: Also, I apparently forgot how to type. Forgot "to" answer your question.
ReplyDeleteSo young, and who knows what kind of world awaits them. I have several nieces and a nephew with young children, and I am a bit fearful for what their world will be like. Can't say I envy them. I'd kinda hoped I'd be gone before it gets too bad, but with the Dimocrats advancing their timetable to ruin this country, I'm not too optimistic about that.
ReplyDeleteFire your proofreader, that used to be my proofreader. He's still not very reliable.

ReplyDeleteThat precisely mirrors my own concerns.
Fire my proofreader? Ok, here goes: "Fetterman, get in here!"
Adorable, Paco. Why do they grow up so fast? My oldest two great-grandchildren are already in grade school.
ReplyDeleteIn the blink of an eye, almost, they're grown up. May God watch over all of the children in this mixed-up, dangerous world.
ReplyDeleteThe grandkids are looking good!
ReplyDeleteI hope they are safe in the not-so-brave and very un-new world upon us.
So far, so good!
