ReplyDeleteThat's only because they want you to wear a mask. If they didn't, masks would increase racism, and anyone daring to wear one would be a....well, you know what.

Now why would people say that women don't like getting their hands dirty working with actual yucky diseases when they can piggy-back on to a discipline as a glorified 'diversity adviser' after getting a PhD and work in comfort? I saw this in a lab 30 years ago. An ambitious young woman joined and found the work too tedious and messy, so was the kindly old prof made her a travelling 'educator' promoting 'science' - the institute was awash with funds I guess. That was just a foreshadowing of the avalanche of female make-work which followed.
Oh, and: It’s an “observational” study —
ReplyDeleteWe used to call those "anecdotes" and they never proved anything. In fact, scientists used to dismiss them as any kind of evidence. But hey, there's grand money to be grabbed for doing "studies".
"Grant" not "grand", but it works anyway.
