"State of Emergency declared, FBI investigating power grid attack in Moore County, sheriff says".
Update The original Gizmodo story was so full of speculative lefty s**t that I found another story to link. Thanks for the heads up, Jeff.

Yes, this was not random vandalism by drunken fools. Two substations, same damage? Targeting the control equipment inside? Stuff that’s much harder to repair or replace?
ReplyDeleteNope, this was a planned attack.
Gotta say, though, Gizmodo checked all the “domestic terrorist” implication boxes. A failed effort, I think, although I’m sure the Eff Bee Eye was appreciative. But People smart enough to oppose grooming children for sexual exploitation aren’t so stupid as to kill commercial power for an entire county in the early days of winter.
I hadn't read the Gizmodo article all the way through, but it was so full of lefty s**t, that I changed the link to coverage by the New York Post. thanks for the heads up, Jeff.
ReplyDeleteI should have said, "now that I've read it all the way through"...etc.
ReplyDeleteDomestic terrorism.
ReplyDeleteWould that include a wacko power company customer pissed at how high his electric bill is now that Uncle Joe is making sure that energy prices are necessarily higher?
Or a disgruntled former employee of the power company? Someone who would know exactly where to shoot to do maximum damage.
I'm praying that this was done by a disgruntled Duke Energy employee with a grudge. Otherwise, it's really scary to think there are groups who see how easy it is to go after the energy grid. Around here, there are plenty of these substations alongside the highways with no more protection than a chain link fence.
