"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
One thing I like is the lack of microphones. Nowadays the presence of microphones in any performance has gone to ridiculous extremes, to where some would not know how to perform, e.g., if they were not holding a cordless mike in front of their mouth pointed horizontally at the audience: it has become an image thing, but I think it's silly, even childish. Like Lord of the Flies 'I got the conch!'
ReplyDeleteThen there are the local bands at small venues which have mikes everywhere and a huge sound system as if they are in some big arena. I saw one drummer had 3 mikes on his drums in a restaurant. Drums are loud, they were meant to be heard in nightclubs 'acoustically'. It has all just gone beyond all sense.
Like Lord of the Flies 'I got the conch!' Nice analogy!
