The expression "lower the boom" comes to mind

"Alleged Anarchists Climb Up 250-Foot Crane and Attach Themselves to Stop 'Cop City' in Atlanta".

Puts me in mind of the time that Number One son, for completely non-political reasons, climbed to the top of a crane when we lived in Richmond, Va. He was very much into photography at the time, and he thought it would be interesting to get a shot of the downtown area as the sun came up. The policeman who spotted him thought that was kind of interesting, too.

  1. I'm all for leaving them up there for a day or six, but I guess that would interfere with the ongoing construction. Or maybe not. It would be a shame if one of those harnesses they put them in came loose. Oops.

Also, that girl has thel vacant expression and googly eyes of your typical moron.

  2. ...their actions put all those other folks who had to go up to rescue them in danger...

"had to" rescue them? Why did they have to? Is there a law that requires them to do that; the "Save Fools From Themselves Act" or some such?

Let'em enjoy the view for a few days.

  3. Your boy had admirable spirit Paco. Reminds me of Melvin Vaniman who took some of the best early panoramic photos of Sydney by climbing tall poles, or balloons:

  4. Unfortunately, Bruce, the magistrate did not share your broad, tolerant view. He was cited for, I believe, misdemeanor trespass or some such thing.

Incidentally, this is the son who went on to become a tattooist. He has always been artistic, and he was a gifted amateur photographer back when he had time for that sort of thing. You wouldn't believe some of the things he could do with an ordinary street scene, or a pile of old industrial junk.

  5. Btw, I just perused some of Vaniman's panoramic photos. Wonderful!
