"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
My dad, WWII vet, did roughneck work on oil rigs for years before he became a cop. I'm most fortunate to have been raised by such a man.
ReplyDeleteLovely idea, those bottles, but you would need heavy-duty glass ones, not just any old beer bottle.
Indeed you were, Rebecca.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the bottles ... ... while I know that some people can accurately measure by eye, I'm certain that most people need to use a ruler or calipers. But you almost NEVER see them doing so in these sort of videos. And as the wood to glass fit is excellent here, I'm certain the artisan here used tools to get the dimensions right.
I wish they would SHOW that. It is not a sign of weakness, but it does imply to the inexperienced that such tools are not needed.
As my dad told me, "Measure twice, cut once."
Jeff: Maybe the guy did just eyeball it - and what he's not showing on camera is a big pile of broken glass over in a corner.
