Happy Feet Friday

C'mon, you've got time to spend Three Minutes on 52nd St with Lionel Hampton and his orchestra (from 1947).

Historical note: 52nd St in Manhattan was a jazz hub from the early 1930s into the early 1950s, and was particularly noted as a haven for bebop in the late 1940s.

  1. Interesting.
It musta still been musically important at least into the 70's.
Billy Joel wrote a song and named an album 52nd Street.
    Good album.
It's probably hipsters now. Like Hell's Kitchen.

    1. A lot of the jazz clubs eventually became strip joints. Don't know what the area's like now.
