One would like to think that partisanship has no place in providing assistance during a disaster...

...but it's getting harder to believe as time goes by.

It just gets worse.

According to figures from fiscal years 2023 and 2024, the SSP has allocated $941 million to support non-federal entities in providing humanitarian services for migrants. Critics argue that this redirection of funds has come at a time when FEMA is facing significant financial strain in responding to disasters, particularly in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which devastated parts of Georgia and North Carolina.

Oh, btw, I saw a news report a few days ago about a half dozen or more migrant workers in one of the heavily flooded areas being arrested for looting. Guess all that diverted FEMA money just wasn't enough.

  1. 7. The Harris/Biden Administration and/or the Democrat NC governor are maliciously and deliberately denying or delaying the use of these assets for nefarious reasons only they know.

That's the one that gets my vote.

  3. Are these red areas? Yeah? Then screw 'em.

Such may a cynic suggest. Also, so might a realist. Often the cynics and realists overlap. Hey Kamala, try plotting that intersection on a Venn diagram.

    1. Western North Carolina is predominantly Republican. Boy, the coincidences sure do pile up, don't they?

  5. There are so many stories coming out now about how the authorities are obstructing some of the rescue operations. If that’s true, it’s infuriating.
