Didn't know that

It turns out that North Carolina has a state dog: the Plott Hound.

  1. Described as a 'coonhound' breed.
I know from local experience that that four-letter combination can have a variety of meanings, but I'm still surprised that so PC Karen hasn't demanded a rename. (Local experience: cheese variety named after US cheesemaker Edward Coon is now Cheer Cheese.)

  2. So far, nobody has dared to fool with the coonhound name. I'd love to have a blue-tick coonhound, as a matter of fact. Maybe I could get one that likes to chase rabbits.

  3. I followed the links and discovered Texas’ state dog is the Blue Lacy, which is rare. Now I’m obsessed with finding one.
