The stupidest thing I have heard anybody say this week (so far). This is Brian Mann, NPR's...checks notes...first "national addiction" correspondent, and all around talking (air) head.
As Meta announces the end to professional fact-checking, please -please- accept finally that social media is not a viable way to get factual information. It was a noble experiment. It failed. Traditional journalism, while imperfect, is the way. Please pay a little bit and use it.

2020 was a completely clean election
Listen to the government on COVID
J6 protestors as insurrectionists
Biden is "sharp and focused"
Kamala Harris's presidential campaign is fueled by "joy"
Whereas honest social media outlets called the mainstream media out on all of these positions, and a host of others, because, as should now be clear to the meanest intelligence, they were all lies and left-wing propaganda.
No that's not 'traditional journalism' at all, in fact the opposite. Traditional journalists used to storm the gates for a 'story', but now they regard themselves as gatekeepers deciding what should or should not be revealed.
