"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
My first car was a 1965 Mercury Monterey coupe, stripped down with crank windows and 1-speed wipers, but a pretty cool V8 and a hood that stretched to the horizon.
ReplyDeleteI never owned a Mercury, but I liked the style.
Deletemy uncle had a huge Buick back in the 70s and my father in law had a huge 2 door Oldsmobile, very plush.
ReplyDeleteI love those old boats. Mrs. Paco and I bought a used Olds Cutlass in the early 80s (I believe it might have been a 1977 model year) - it had a beautiful exterior green color and interior of slightly lighter green, with a white roof.
DeleteI had a 72 Cutlass Supreme in 82. It was my step-fathers cousin's. She drove 1,000 miles a year to work.
Delete350 Olds with a 4bbl carb. Rusted to crap but that thing was a beast. I sold it when I got the Cougar.
When the Tbirds were redesigned in 83, I wanted one.
ReplyDeleteThen I saw the Cougar. I got an 84, loved that ride.
A 70 Cougar convertible is a darn nice car too.
I'm also very fond of the Cougar styling.
