It's a dangerous way to make a living, the line moves fast and the knives are sharp; I knew a few people who made the jump from meat cutters to Food Safety Inspection; all of them missing at least one finger.
ReplyDeleteHaving not all that long ago sliced through a fingernail with a sharp knife while cutting up thin eye-of-round steaks for beef jerky, I can well understand the hazards (important safety tip: don't watch television while you're cutting meat).
