Lex Luthor? Pffft! He's small potatoes next to Donald Trump

"Liar James Gunn Blames Trump for ‘Superman’s’ Overseas Underperformance".

I haven't seen a new movie release in a theater in more than 15 years - and that's just a wild guess, because I can't remember the last movie I saw in a theater.

But I've read, or listened to, enough reviews to figure out that the problem is on the creative end, and the principal malefactors are the producers, directors and actors who (1) completely lack originality and imagination, and (2) are high on the cultural miasma of Woke.

They don't write stories that people want to watch, with characters people find compelling or even interesting. It began as a concsious decision, to target fringe audiences and focus on "representation" but now they're at the point where they simply cannot do it. They have fired all the older,. more competent writers for being "male, pale and stale" and all they have left are the ones who think "Gay!" or "Black!" or "Trans!" is a character and can't write a character arc because their cardboard cutout characters cannot learn or grow or suffer setbacks because racism or misogyny or one of the phobias.

  2. I saw all the movies, I’m even old enough to have watched the original George Reeves black and white Superman tv show. What new, fresh stories about Superman can they tell? Jeepers, think up something new, Hollywood!

  3. The only movie I have seen at a theatre for about the same 15 years was the new Top Gun. It was great, stuck to the formula and everyone I spoke to loved it.

  5. 'Superman is not a known commodity in some places. He is not a big known superhero in some places like Batman is.'
Oh yeah, the Kryptonian's been standing in the shadow of the Bat for decades.
Gunn lost the argument right there.
