Jubilation!

The second half of my cotton crop is in!

Time to get this on board a ship, sneak through the Yankee blockade, and run for England!

  2. So what are you going to buy with the proceeds? Guns and ammunition, or designer dresses and luxury goods?

    Hmmmm...

  3. How many slaves did it take to pick your cotton crop?
You're gonna be in trouble with the reparations people now.

  6. About 30 years ago I used to look after the computer hardware at a cotton gin in a sleepy little town called Wee Waa in northern NSW.
The local schools and sporting clubs raised their funds by collecting the windblown cotton off trucks bringing in the modules and bales. It was pretty lucrative with many hands collecting. . If you could get a cubic yard of that, it would get you a couple of hundred bucks in the 1990's.

    1. Pretty cool! It sure beats slogging along hot, dusty roads in the summertime, dragging a big burlap sack, picking up soda pop bottles, which was a major source of my pocket money when I was a kid.
