The election was won (thankfully) but by just enough that the Republicans shouldn’t take too much comfort from it. There are powerful dark forces at play in the Democratic Party.

ReplyDeleteWhen I see an 'independent' on my ballot paper my default interpretation is 'covert Labor'. Those three would have been covert Dem, I assume.
One might have been Libertarian. They profess to hate Democrats and big government, but I've never seen an election in which they didn't wind up pulling more votes from the Republican candidate. A bunch of political exhibitionists, mainly. At one time, they represented maximum individual freedom; nowadays, they mostly seem interested in legalizing drugs and (probably) prostitution.
