Haw! One of the commenters at the YouTube site suggested that, too. I've never seen a film version, but I would definitely watch one that looked like this.
I've seen the original. While I don't expect a movie to be identical to the book, I do like there to be a faithful attempt to be consistent. The original tried in parts, but (IMHO) had a fair amount of over acting. It's not on my rewatch list.
I've not seen the current version, as I prefer to wait for a movie to hit the streaming services, preferably one that I'm subscribed to. But I hear it's an improvement, and the trailer looks promising.
I have seen the current version, and it's very low key compared to Lynch's movie. The Baron is almost catatonic - no howling at all. I thought the original was way overblown until I saw the remake. It's got its moments, but overall it feels like the production team sat down to watch the original and did everything they could to not resemble it.
