This is a little different from my usual offerings, in that we don't actually see people making or restoring anything; it's just the finished product. But the materials, the workmanship - the craftsmanship - employed in building this house are simply astonishing.

Saw this last night and clicked just to see if the thumbnail image is AI generated, because that pisses me off big time. And I was very pleasantly gratified to find that, no, it is not. Further, the rest of the house lives up to that amazing image.
ReplyDeleteExcellent craftsmanship! The attention to detail is stunning.
ReplyDeleteBut ... cheap, that place ain't. To build, AND to rent. Still, the owner did pick a nice location -- it's not far from Hood River, which is a nice town (leaving aside the Oregon politics) to visit and stay.
And I expect that the place is available most of the year; it's in the Cascades, but the location doesn't appear to be TOO high, so winter access probably isn't difficult.
One mundane comment on the construction ... ... it looks to be very fire resistant, with the stone ways and clay tile roof. Plus there is a respectable defensive space (i.e., the trees are well back from the house).
Very nice!
Absolutely amazing that the owner did the bathroom ceiling mosaic herself. What creativity and patience and skill she must possess!
