"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
I love those things. I prefer them with different nuts but that's an easy change..
ReplyDeleteI really do not need to know how to cook them though.
I see it as being like reloading. You can take your chances that ammo will always be available in stores or online (which is what I do), or you can assure yourself of a supply of the kind you want by loading your own cartridges, in the event ammo becomes unavailable through normal retail channels.
Deletemmmmmmm......
ReplyDeleteTurtles are great! Costco (at least the one nearest me) has something similar, but made with macadamia nuts. Which I never would have thought of myself, but the richness of the mac nuts goes well with the caramel and chocolate.
ReplyDeleteMy sister and I made these.
ReplyDeleteWe messed up though, did the math wrong and put almost a cup of condensed milk instead of half a cup.
So the filling stuff was thinner, we froze it before putting it in the melted chocolate but it didn't work out that well.
They still taste good, sugar and nuts in chocolate can't be bad, but they look odd.
My stepfather gave us a big bag of pecans, so we might try to make these. Mrs. Paco already made some pecan muffins, and they were pretty good (as in "ate-most-of-them-at-one-sitting good").
DeleteWe used pecans and cashews.
DeleteI like cashews.
