"Arizona’s Trojan Horse: Qatar City".
A glossy brochure labeled “Qatar City, Arizona, USA” has begun circulating online. It shows a 6,000-acre state land auction and a massive proposed development project strategically placed near Arizona’s TSMC high-tech zone. The name? Qatar City. The plan? Unclear. The funding? Opaque. The timing? Disturbing.
The bribes? Extensive.
ReplyDeleteShould be interesting if they get frisky.
Well armed rednecks and Mexicans aren't known for their senses of humor.
My first thought was, I wonder if they'd allow some Americans to buy a large tract in Qatar, for unknown purposes?
ReplyDeleteThen I looked at Qatar on google maps, and wondered why Americans would want to buy a piece of desert, surrounded by muslims? Nevermind.
You just described much of the Arabian Peninsula. If it wasn't for desalination, funded by fossil fuels, Qatar would be a genuine Third World Shithole.
DeleteAs matters stands, Qatar is simply a Third World Shithole with running water.
How so?
I spent a week there, in 2005. On a drive through the desert, we passed what appeared to be an oasis. Well, it was an oasis, but the water came from all the black trucks dumping their loads right off the highway.
Black trucks, you say? What are black trucks?
We have them here in the US of A, picking up their loads from portapotties and septic tanks. Those are generally deposited at the local sewage treatment plant.
That's how Qatar treats their land.
