Those commercials were great. He was perfect in that role. He even got a TV show out of it. I was always happy for him. The show was not very good, but he must have made decent money out of it.
There were a few people who became famous from commercials. Joe Isuzu of course, but also that fast talking Micro Machines guy, and the "Hey Vern" guy, and the "Where's the Beefs?" lady.
Those commercials were great.
