Canada has an antisemitism problem. As of mid-July, B’nai Brith had documented 27 violent antisemitic incidents so far this year, compared with 10 during all of 2025. As The Free Press’s Rupa Subramanya reported in June, Jews account for about one percent of Canada’s population of 41.6 million, but were the targets of more hate crimes reported by police in 2024 than all other religious groups combined.
Somehow, thus strikes me as even scarier:
Enten on the 67 point swing (!!!) against Israel among Americans: "We're not just talking about the Democratic base anymore. The general electorate has turned against Israel. This is not just a left issue. It's an American issue. The trend line is unbelievable." pic.twitter.com/nOMOzNCPQv

Take a vigorous propaganda machine, relentless scapegoating, and a lumpen-electorate (much of it highly "educated") that is ignorant of history and even the basic facts of current events, and this thing becomes possible. It is devoutly to be hoped that people, in general, come to their senses before the new wave of "democratic" socialism and increasing antisemitism provide us with yet another manifestation of bloodthirsty totalitarianism.
I wonder how much of it is actual antisemitism, rather than the effect of a flood of anti-Israel, anti-Zionist, anti-Netanyahu reporting by the media. I've heard that even the Israeli media attacks Netanyahu on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteIt's just no fun watching the last few years.
ReplyDeleteThe part that bothers me the most about the uptick is that it's driven by some combination of money (Tucker Carlson getting Qatari $) and for electoral success (importing hordes of unassimilating Muslims and pandering to their hatreds).
Bu all the low info folks see is Jew hate all the time on the news and certain podcasts.
At Instapundit I'll call anything bad A Mossad Op!! to be funny, there are lots of people who say the same thing but they're serious.
