True Story, or Load of B.S.? Or Both?

According to this story, a 6,000-acre fire near the California town of Moorpark may have been the result of the spontaneous combustion of cow manure.

Anybody know what the historic source of potassium nitrate (aka saltpeter, one of the primary components of gunpowder)is? Anybody?

Bueller?

Cow flops started a fire? I suppose the heat of organic material decomposition could account for this. Not to mention dried manure is somewhat flammable, and fairly insulative. Never have heard of it getting that hot, though.

Color me skeptical, but I really don't know.

I'd believe it if it turned out to be White House manure.
