Notice 2 things:
1) The Wun could not find a put-down to the hecklers; any half-descent orator would have silenced them. Anyone who has actually performed in public, in front of real people, would be accustomed to heckling. Clearly the Wun hasn't ever done this sort of thing before.
2) The reaction of the "mob": Infantile chanting of the magician-saint's name.
