Yawn

Much is being made of Justice Alito's mouthing of the words, "That's not true", in response to Obama's attack on the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision during the SOTU speech last night.

But what about Harry Reid's "You're boring the hell out me" moment?

Update: Haw! John McCain mouths the words "Blame it on Bush."

The new journalism skill: lip reading.

Heh!

Governor McDonnell did a very good job giving the response. The Won ought to take lessons from him.

Against my better judgment, I watched that mess last night, just to see if Obama had finally wised up. I don't know whether to despair or be reassured that he hasn't.

The whole thing could be symbolized by Slow Joe sitting in the background, nodding robotically like a Joe Biden bobblehead doll.

I had the wreck on in the background because it's hard to see Obama, Pelosi, Biden, and the rest. Wisely, my house didn't participate in the "Calling Out the Lies" game or the bank account would have been lighter. If there are any neighbors that don't know of the Conservative nature of apartment fourteen, they knew after last night. The sound level was akin to sports fans during the playoffs.

The companion to lip reading is sign language. Envision Republicans sitting side-by-side, each signing a letter that makes up "liar" or "wrong".

Heh. I can call him a liar in ASL.
(Liar is a combination of lie and person)

Here's the ASL dictionary website just in case you feel the need to look up any words. http://www.aslpro.com/cgi-bin/aslpro/aslpro.cgi

Thanks for the link, SW. The year after I married, Mr. H and I worked a little while for a box company in Grand Prairie, TX, that employed many deaf people, and I learned a little bit (very little) of ASL in order to communicate with them. That's a cool site for people who want to learn it. I can't make most of the alphabet signs anymore because of the arthritis in my fingers.

Heh. I have to sing and sign the alphabet every morning with the TMH kids. The Signing Time videos are good, too:

Our PMH and TMH kids that cannot speak well aren't really into finger spelling; they have a basic signing vocabulary of colors, clothing, toys, drinks, and foods.

That's all I have, too, is a very, VERY limited vocabulary.
