I remember (blushingly) my youthful forays into meetings of women's lib groups (back before NOW got started). The most outspoken members were always man-hating shrews (to put it politely) with an obvious contempt for women who chose to be wives and mothers, which is why I didn't last. Also, a whole lot of them seemed to be from broken homes and divorced themselves, which may have explained a lot of the man-hating.
