That dog won't hunt

  1. Most Blue Dogs don't vote with the Blue Dogs because they aren't Blue Dogs! I think he uses the term branding mechanism, which is appropriate. They only list themselves as Blue Dogs so they can go back to their districts and talk fiscal conservative. Look at the list and decide for yourself. You have Gabby Giffords and Loretta Sanchez on there just to name two. They have never been close to being Blue Dogs. At the height of the takeover in this Congress I think the most you had on big votes was eleven. Until their leadership exerts some pressure and starts kicking some of these people out of the caucus they will continue to be a joke.

/You have reached a paragraph free zone-do not adjust your sets, normal programming will resume presently.

  2. Can't trust Blue Dog Democrats? You don't say. I'd have thought the designation "Democrat" would be a big enough clue.

  3. Blue Dogs will vote in accordance with the principles of their largely conservative constituency only so long as the DNC can be sure of passing legislation without their votes. If the caucus needs them, they then stage a bullshit Kabuki routine that permits them to pretend their conscience has been satisfied, as in the Obamacare farce.

If that lying shitweasel Stupak really were a man of integrity he'd be spitting fire and chewing nails, thundering at Obama's double cross regarding abortion. But nope, he's going along with the "wink, wink" facade of having stood on a matter of principle and wringing a concession from Obama.
