Well done, Marietta Clinkscales!

  1. Great music. But what a story! Lots of things in there new to me.

I learn something new every day at the Paco Club (Inc).

Ellington is just too big to comprehend all at once. I find Billy Strayhorn easier to understand and admire. The harmonic depth he brings to the music I like very much (I have his solo album/s), with a sense of life cut tragically short. Bill Evans, who I also like a lot, probably owes a lot to Billy Strayhorn.

  2. That's my goal, Bruce: to try and discover something everyday that might be of interest to members of the Paco Club. I'm glad you enjoyed the article.

    Now, about your delinquent dues...

  3. Aah. Always with the dues, the dues...

I'm afraid I'm duophobic - no Simon and Garfunkel for me.
