On to 2012!

Republicans scored big last night, even though there were some disappointments (notably Harry Reid winning reelection in Nevada). In California, it looks like the Democrats are truly going to own the coming state collapse. And it appears that my own congress-weasel, Gerald Connelly, will hang on to his razor-thin margin of victory.

On the other hand, at least two black Republicans - Allen west in Florida and Tim Scott in South Carolina - have won, Marco Rubio not only won, but is obviously headed for a promising career at the national level, and Republicans recaptured numerous state houses and governorships. There is a new generation of future Republican stars, while the Democrats clearly suffer from what you might call a fertility decline in the creation of exciting candidates of potential national prominence.

All in all, a good night - but it's still the merest start.

  2. It's not the battle that we must win, it's the battles. And the war.

  3. My candidate lost last night. But when I looked at the crew he had assembled, young, old, black, white Hispanic, who have embraced the conservative ethos of hard work and responsibility,I saw that there is at least the kernel of a future in California, even if we have to let the current structure crash and burn to get to it.

Many desert plants out here actually HAVE to burn to germinate.

  4. And just a big thank you to the Libertarian Party for costing us seats out there. Nothing like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Those people literally gave Giffords the victory over Kelly and probably the same for Grijalva over McClung.

  5. Let me introduce you to the Libertarian candidate in my congressional district, Carlos Rodriguez, pot rights advocate and immigration amnesty lawyer, a libertarian who doesn't respect other people's property when sticking his signs on their property... oh, wait, I just did.

Truth to tell, he didn't siphon off enough votes to affect the outcome. But what the hell kind of libertarian wants indocumentado amnesty?

  6. Ohio went Republican. I'll take the largest amphora of mead in storage, thank you very much.

Also, don't forget Nikki Haley, the first female governor of South Carolina, and the second Indian-American governor in the US.

  7. Richard: Your Lib Party isn't our Lib Party. This is the limited gov't type out here. Kelly is losing by 2,000 and they got 9,000.

And just watch whose desert plants your burning out there! :)

  9. While we got Governor Moonbeam again, the map at Three Beers Later shows that the state nearly went red. We need to let all those that feel like they are wandering in the desert know this.

Suggestion, please help Nancy by sending some packing peanuts, and maybe some bubble wrap. We don't want the big gavel to get broken in the move. Bu-bye Nan!

  10. From Down Under
Decent people everywhere salute your success, and the hope it brings but the war will not be won until the hard left is destroyed. Down here,we haven't even started. The bogan ptincess just returned from a less than triumphant tour of Asian countries, trailing the First Fancyman. I felt ashamed to call myself an Australian.

  11. "... the map ... shows that the state nearly went red."
And every-time we find out it was just a bunch of kids spilling the paint.

    Cheers
