Dick Clark, RIP

America’s DJ passed away today, struck down by a heart attack.

In his honor, here’s the theme song from his long-running TV show, American Bandstand (“Bandstand Boogie”).

BTW, check out his Flinstone home.

O_H__ N_O_E_S!

He can't do that! For you of a younger age you cannot imagine what an institution that was. A young Yojimbo would race home from 4th grade to watch Bandstand and the Mickey Mouse Club with the Adventures of Spin and Marty.

I give him a 100. He had a nice beat and was easy to dance to.
Not fair.

Levon Helm's gone too. Only 71, he always looked older. His odd drumming riffs drew attention to the music.

Yojimbo, was that you on the other side of the street? I join in giving him a 100.

No doubt the joint is rocking the Philadelphia way. Hopefully the New Year's Eve celebration will include a hat tip to Dick Clark. It was his night! God bless Dick!

Yeah Deborah I saw a kid's comment on Bobbie Daren's groundbreaking 'Splish Splash' (not my favourite of his songs):'He's just lip-syncing!'

Yeah 1950's TV was live etc. Kid's'll never understand.
