President Obama, once again, has been trying to link his own paltry achievements with the accomplishments of former U.S. presidents.
I have only one thing to say: Stop stealing my material, Barry!

"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Hilarious but I'm also interested in an issue that arises out of this... this is the sort of thing that you'd suspect some PR hack has come up with, as a way of getting the message out to as many people as possible.
ReplyDeleteJust like the 'O' logo, the 'Hope' and 'Change' campaign posters, the big Obama speech in front of the mock-classical temple, and the adoption of 'Forward' as the upcoming campaign slogan, it seems silly. But it helps to carefully craft a certain image of the president for the audience.
Obama's usually seems to be to laugh off these things with a casual joke later - that's pretty canny too.
All the same the uncomfortable perception must be growing in a lot of people's minds that this presidency is being stage-managed a little too much. And elections just can't be won on publicity. So I wonder how long the Dems can keep up with this sort of thing.
I lay this crap directly at the feet of Valerie Jarrett and the rest of Obama's posse. Not that he wouldn't give that big-toothed shite-eating grin of his and approve of it.
