High and dry

By the grace of God, to whom I give thanks. We made it through the hurricane with no damage and - much to my surprise - no power outage. Our prayers go up for the souls of those who died, and for their families, and for a return to normal life everywhere, but especially in New York and New Jersey, which seem to have been particularly hard hit.

Sandy is still being felt as it moves westward. Prayers for all those who are effected, especially those that lost loved ones.

Glad to see Paco Central Command is still up and running.

Today, Wednesday noon, after staying in a hotel without power since Monday evening, an MSC rep showed up and said they were going to bus us down to Norfolk (from whence I would be flown back to San Diego).

Sure enough, we pulled out of the parking lot right at 1600 (probably much to the relief of the hotel staff, since we poor lost MSC lambs were the only ones staying there). Got into NORVA about 2300.

We stopped in Delaware and I had some KFC for dinner. Hot food! Plus, in the restrooms, warm water to wash with! The bad thing is, most of NJ is still hosed and they have no idea how long it's going to be to get services restored.
