I think I could outrun that

What? You mean it's not for speed-limit enforcement?

And yet police departments across the country are wailing about budget cuts. Do they not know what it costs to maintain those beasts?

Deborah .... It's somewhat surprising that fiscally irresponsible Los Angeles hasn't put in for one of these. It would go well with the iPads that are being issued for all school kids starting in kindergarten. It would make the car chases more interesting...and hey, maybe the could win the $10,000 from Tom Bergeron.

Meanwhile Big Brother has crept closer in our part of Australia, where every car on the road is now on a central databank, including 4 pictures of each vehicle I've heard. And police cars are mobile scanners which *automatically* record and register the status of every passing vehicle using license plate. An alarm sounds if car is 'outlaw' and then chase. The sheep bleat, 'If you've got nothing to hide, what's the problem?'

They're watching (and this under a 'conservative' govt):

Maybe you could outrun that, Paco, but I bet there's a couple rounds of .50 BMG with your name on them.

It's for your own safety, Citizen!

I'd imagine the mileage is much worse than a Hummer and maintenance would also be costly. Certainly wouldn't want to get a flat and have to replace a tire...

Wonder if it's too heavy for small country bridges, too?

Didn't we see this in the original Die Hard?
