Did you watch the first Democrat debate?

Yeah, me neither. But some brave souls, like Jim Geraghty, did, and based on his observations, I'd say that practically the whole thing sounded like a revival of the Comintern.

As I've said before, the truly interesting (and ominous) thing to me is not the revolution going on in the GOP, but the ideological fossilization of the Democratic Party. Through a kind of petrifaction, the form of the organization is still recognizable, but its constituent elements have been almost completely replaced through the crystallization of statist nostrums which admit of few, if any, competing variations.

  1. It wasn't a debate, it was a runway walk for Billary!!, stroking her ego, and satisfying the bread&circus demands of the Dhimmicrats.

Fossilization is right. The Dhimmicratic Party resembles coprolite more than anything else.

  2. Yes apparently they've all decided to promote Hillary. It's kind of a perversion of chivalry. And she's destined to be a sort of Lewis Carroll Queen: "Off with their heads!" A wonder in the new blunderland.

  3. I didn't watch because it would have been a waste of my time, jujubes, popcorn, and wine/margaritas.. I don't really drink often, but hearing the lies and Hillary's voice would make me imbibe.

The Democrats have a number of agendas. One is the election of the "first" of a kind president. They succeeded with the first Black (the White part doesn't matter) only because the woman couldn't make it. But that never means the goal is scratched off; it's just put on the back burner.

  4. Through a kind of petrifaction,...

I think they may still be in the putrefaction stage.

At least, there's no better word to describe today's Democrat party, than putrid.

  5. I guessed it would pretty much be like that so I didn't bother to watch. I have zero interest in what any Democrat has to say these days.

Unless it's "I resign my office today".

  8. R-man: putrefaction would certainly be preferred, because it would mean that the party was rapidly returning to the dust from which it came.

Anon: That laugh (as Wodehouse would say) "takes me to another and dreadful world".
