If you're looking for a third-party candidate...

...forget the Libertarians, the Communist Party USA, and all the rest and give Cthulhu a look.

On the other hand, do you suppose his platform is much different from Hillary's?

You mean ... Hillary isn't Cthulhu?

And, we'd go from a President whose name I refuse to pronounce, to a President whose name I cannot pronounce.

Still beats Hillary.

Cthulhu for President in 2016! Why settle for the lesser evil?

Now we get to choose between Hillary and The Donald. Considering that the population of the country is somewhere north of 320 million, surely we could find two better candidates. It is a shame to us that two such people, a crook and a clown, are the candidates for the highest office in the land instead of somebody of gravitas, knowledge, and experience in governing.

It is one more example of the dangers of overweening government power. If the Federal Government was small and limited in its powers, it would not matter so much that the candidates for president this year are both creeps.

Good point. The bigger the government, the greater the leverage. I think we've now truly entered the "bread and circuses" stage.

It gets worse than that Paco. As more and more people become dependent on government for their livelihood and access to government resources depends on if your party/faction/gang of thugs is in control, the stakes rise immeasurably. If, when the opposition takes over you stand to lose your rice bowl, you will fight to keep it. That is the basis of many of the civil wars in the Third World over the last 50 years. If political defeat means losing your grub (as people said in some African countries about losing a government job), you will use non-political means to defend it, from voting fraud to outright violence to intimidate voters and opponents. Bernie's thugs at that Trump rally are only the beginning. A large proportion of the people donating to his campaign were jobless. Do yo suppose they looked at a Bernie victory in November as the key to getting their grub?

And you have to wonder, if they aren't working, where did they get the money to donate? Welfare payments? Charging the donations to EBT cards? Your tax dollars at work.
