Yeah, good luck getting repaid

Talk about money down the drain:
On Monday, state banks in Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay, Paraguay and Costa Rica, all members of the Latin American Reserve Fund, approved a three-year-loan of $482 million for Venezuela's central bank.

Three years?! It's a joke, right? South Pacific island sales are starting to pick up.

I think Deborah's right. Really, $482 million wouldn't buy more than a weeks worth of food for the whole country, but it would buy a nice island or two for 'retirement' purposes.

They let Venezuela vote whether or not to throw money from other countries down the Chavista rathole? Next up, IMF loans and a bailout from Washington DC.

The wages of socialism is impoverishment and starvation, even when it's not death.

I know Pete Seeger was a Commie, but you have to ask "When will they ever learn?" Maybe somebody could adapt his song to modern reality.

Where have all the flowers gone,
long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone,
long time ago.
Where have all the flowers gone?
Crushed by police boots every one.
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the police boots gone,
long time passing?
Where have all the police boots gone,
long time ago?
Where have all the police boots gone?
Stomping on faces, every one.
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Well I could go on, but I think it would take a better song writer than I to make anything of this idea. Maybe J. P. knows somebody suitable.
