Philosophical piffle from an intellectualoid

According to Noam Chomsky, "the Republican Party has become the most dangerous organization in world history".

Got that? The most dangerous organization in world history. More dangerous than the Communist Party in the Soviet Union under Stalin, more dangerous than the Chi-Coms under Mao during the Cultural Revolution, more dangerous than Hitler and his Nazis. And why is that? Because Trump doesn't buy into climate change, so he's literally going to create hell on earth.

There's no fool like a man educated beyond his intelligence.

I think it's more a kind of byproduct of Aspergers: a superior ability to see patterns and systems (linguistics) when turned to politics leads you see links and conspiracies which just aren't there. But how to tell his followers?

I work with this lady, fantastic artistic design ability, but she sees faces in clouds and "carved" on cliffs (by aborigines she says). She has this computer program showing amazing patterns in medieval paintings (yeah like Dan Brown but better) but she says they're secret messages!

On reflection you can see it's really a widespread problem, exacerbated by the fact these people are influential in other ways with unusual pattern-brains: apparently Chomsky's hierarchies are used in writing computer programs.

Time to get rid of the word "genius" for people with high ability in narrow fields.

Wasn't there a guy who promised that he would end global warming, about eight years ago?

Funny that he couldn't end it, but Trump can bring it to fruition. Maybe the other guy wasn't all he was cracked up to be.

I think Bruce is right about Chomsky. He's just never been able to connect with his inner human.

Wasn't there a guy who promised that he would end global warming, about eight years ago?And oceans would recede, and stuff like that. Or something.
And you didn't have to worry about your mortgage anymore, or about putting fuel in the car, & so on.
