God, being Christian and therefore more kindly inclined toward Republicans, didn't let rain fall on their roads or footpaths. And so their candidate won. I don't know what the US equivalent of the Australian Electoral Commission is, but there's a clear case for an inquiry into election rigging here.
It just proves the danger of global climate change.
