This is pretty much how socialism always works out
Flipping burgers is easier too. American socialists would distract from Venezuela's failure by pointing to the Argentinian fast food restaurants. It's likely they would take the numbers, run 'am through a blender, and make a statement supporting higher wages for low or unskilled labor in the US.
