Know your gun history

I have an L.C. Smith double-bbl shotgun (12 ga), which Old Paco handed down to me many years ago. As near as I've been able to figure, having researched serial numbers, it appears to have been manufactured circa 1923. The brand has a kind of complicated history.

    Wow, it came in 8 gauge ? My 12 hurts me after a few.

    I can't even imagine shooting an 8 ga. I was shooting a couple of 12's last week, and I've got the bruises to prove it.

      The duffers at the pool will be envious of your bruises. Probably better to make up a fanciful explanation as the genisis of the bruises. Keep it away from canoes.

    My 12 and my 30-30 pretty much live in the gun cabinet. I have 308's I can shoot 'till I'm penniless with no pain. Your shotgun does sound really cool though.

    Deb: It's a nice gun, but I never shoot it (it might have some collector value). The shotguns I was practicing with were a Stoeger Coach gun and a Winchester SXP Pump Defender. I particularly like the coach gun; very "old west".
