Assortment

J.J. Sefton at Ace of Spades has come up with the perfect terminology to describe the gaggle of anti-Trump GOP squishes and NeverTrump conservatoids: the Coup Cucks Clan.

The leading presidential candidate among Democrats and independents is "Not Hillary".

The nauseating pomposity and self-importance of the so-called Press.

How low can the MSM sink? I dunno, how deep is the Mariana Trench?

David Thompson has an amusing Year in Review post.

R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr., discusses Trump's battle with the Kultursmog.

Among other things, Hollywood is an unending, gushing spring of hagiographical crap about the odious Che Guevara.

Whenever German politicians start talking about the necessity of countries giving up their sovereignty, I get nervous.

This looks to be a first-rate, don't-miss WWI documentary: They Shall Not Grow Old. Have any of you seen it?

They Shall Not Grow Old - saw it last week. It's definitely one to view on the big screen if you get the opportunity. No doubt there will be a DVD release eventually, with lots of extras, but seeing it in the cinema will enhance your appreciation for the conditions of the day - and also Peter Jackson's brilliant restoration.

He even got lip readers and matched the regional UK accents to regiments for voice-overs.

I got choked up just watching the previews (although Granddad's record was nothing special and only his sister distinguished herself as a VAD, now she's a blue-stocking feminist icon whoopee). They look so real now. It's painful.

Jackson's a craftsman, it will be good.

They Shall Not Grow Old is amazing, a phenomenal documentary. It's a definite must-see, especially on the big screen. Peter Jackson speaks before the film and then after the credits. It behooves you to stay as the information enhances the the creation of the film.

Caveat: "Mademoiselle from Armentieres, Parley-voo?", the song at the end is an earworm.

The documentary is about British troops. It is archival footage, and some original audio. The film did so well in test markets that it will be widely released soon. Watch for it.
