Up to the collapse of the USSR, moron fellow travelers were visiting the Soviet Union, often on tours sponsored by The Nation, and returning with rave reviews of the wonderful quality of life there. Everything worked, there was plenty for all, there was no inequality, and universal happiness was the rule!
Even today there are some diehards proclaiming that Venezuela is a success story of socialism, and admonishing us to disbelieve the capitalist shill media trying to sell a false image of the worker's paradise there.
