And now, a word from our sponsor

  1. Eskimo Pie...the Rachel Dolezal of ice cream treats.

Black on the outside, white on the inside.

  2. Drive-in ads, that takes me back. They have a special dull early film-color look, and primitive animation. Actually this reminds me of images from Mao's Cultural Revolution!

  3. This is our Eskimo Pie, unchanged since lo these many moons now since I was a mere lad.

Your Eskimo Pie bears a strong resemblance to the old Peters Choc Wedge. Funny how things change when you cross the Equator!

  4. I'm a little surprised that the name is still used, since some people have claimed that the word "Eskimo" is racist. I don't think "Inuit Pie" really has the same ring.

  5. Bruce: Very true, what you say about the color of these old ads. Puts me in mind of our ancient family movies, shot with an 8mm film camera.

  6. How I loved Eskimo pies when I was a kid. Seeing that clip reminded of the dancing hot dogs our local drive-in used to run.

  7. I only went to a drive-in a few times (my parents took my brother and me when were kids). I can still remember the smell of burgers and fries at the little snack stand. Pardon me while I drool...
