Charming

Vitriolically anti-Trump Hollywood-leftist Jason Blum, CEO of Blumhouse Productions, has a new movie out called Hunted, which is supposedly a satire about liberal elites hunting "deplorables" for sport.

I'm not sure to what extent this flick is really satire; it could simply be a straight-forward thriller designed to appeal to leftists' genocidal fantasies. The release of the film is, I believe, currently on hold in the wake of the El Paso and Dayton mass shootings, so the genuine "tone" of the movie won't be clear until it is in theaters. The movie does not, however, sound like the kind of thing that is likely to reduce the rhetorical heat.

And remember: they really do hate us.

Update: The NeverTrump flock - oh, so predictably - scorns real conservatives for suspecting this movie's motives. But, unfortunately for them, they flew right into the spinning blades of that giant anti-Vichy windmill, Ace of Spades.

Lefties understand the concept of satire? That's hard to believe, considering how little they appreciate The Babbylon Bee.

That's one reason I suspect this is more about wish fulfillment than satire.

There was a 1995 movie called The Last Supper with vaguely the same plot.
I don't know what kind of comment to make about that.
