After the "Stop being such jerks, stupid men!" ad, I bought an old fashioned razor and package of double edged blades. Since I shave just every other day to clean up the neck and cheeks, no hardship at all for me. Plus I'm not giving money to people who despise me.
I went out and bought some Gillette products, just so I could throw them in the trash.
No, I didn't. I've always preferred a electric shaver, and since I have a full beard I only shave my neck (I hate neck beards) and upper cheeks, so an electric is easier. I have a soft beard (or so I've been told), so the blades in the electric shaver last a long time. I don't think I've ever spent a penny on any Gillette products.
Rman, what kind of electric shaver do you have? Richard is looking for one.
I'm bearded, but I buy a pack of cheapass Bic razors for around my neck. They don't last long.
Deborah, I currently have a Braun Series 3 shaver, like this one.
This one is a newer model than mine, but the picture looks nearly identical to mine (except for the color). I've had mine for probably five years, and it seems to be holding up well. I'm still on the original cutting head, and it still shaves fine. But, like I said, my beard is relatively soft, so if Richard has a beard of steel his mileage may vary. The battery lasts a long time between charges.
Never have bought Gillette, and I certainly never will.
R-man, my beard (started after I retired from the Army Reserves) is much like yours, but I shave my neck and upper cheeks with generic disposable razors. I keep it neat with a electric trimmer.
Harry's for me. I switched a few years ago for cost reasons - Gillette was charging way too much. I've stayed with Harry's because they are convenient to acquire (on line) and the blades remain effective a long time.
Thanks! Will consider it.
