Inept duo boards the Fail train

Prior to becoming the President's communications director (a job he had for less than two weeks before being fired), Anthony Scaramucci held some kind of ambiguous position at the agency where I worked. It was obvious that he had been parked there until the Trump administration could find something for him of a more permanent nature - which, as indicated, they were unable to do. I attended a couple of meetings at which he was present; he never had much to say, and I don't know what, if anything, he ever did to earn a paycheck, but he struck me as a fairly typical corporate go-getter, exuding a lot of nervous energy, "smartest-guy-in-the-room" syndrome, champing at the bit to be in charge of something. He was temperamentally unsuited to serve as any kind of bureaucrat, and I was horrified to learn that he had been put in charge of White House communications - a blissfully short engagement that led to him being tossed out of the administration entirely. My guess is he was just another bored financier who wanted to create some kind of legacy by building a political career (it is alarming how many people there are who think that, just because they have a knack for making money, helping to run the federal government is a milk run).

He now claims to have taken umbrage at Trump's invitation to the "Squad" to leave if they're not happy here, and reportedly is teaming up with Bill Kristol, of all people, on a mission to bring Trump down. It is not impossible that Trump may lose the election in 2020, but with Scaramucci and Kristol forming an alliance against him, I'd say his chances of victory just got marginally better.

That all sounds very accurate. Types who are looking for short cuts to leadership, not a bad thing itself if they actually have talent.

Mooch has a bunch of Chinese business interests that are not being purchased or otherwise being beat up by the tariffs. I bet Capn' Bill gets defunded after Trump gets re elected.

ck: That would be a nice side benefit!

Greenland says 'We are nor for sale!' but I read that Chinese have already bought up the place:

None so blind.

It's been suggested that Trump should buy Hong Kong, instead of Greenland.

The people in Hong Kong wave the American flag more than the Dimocrats do.

Scaramucci also supported, meaning he raised funds for, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. I suppose he may have presented himself as apolitical, and that may actually be more or less correct. He obviously is all about promoting himself, though, and that ought to have disqualified him from holding any position in government.

He looks a lot like Michael Avenatti, in fact. Less obviously criminal, but just as sleazy and self centered.

Steve: Yes, I'd say that's a pretty good description.

According to a Yahoo News headline I declined to click, Mooch is now claiming that Trump will withdraw from the 2020 election campaign "within weeks" to "avoid the humiliation of losing".

And they know the words to the American national anthem.

If Trump bought Hong Kong....
HONG KONG USA! HONG KONG USA!
HONG KONG USA! HONG KONG USA!

Delusional. Trump doesn't back down. Recently, he filled a stadium in New Hampshire, and there were still thousands outside.

Social media junkies are celebrating, though.

I wonder if Mooch is currently not employed in the financial sector because his investment savvy is on a par with his political insights. No wonder he's hanging around TV studios; probably looking for a full-time gig.

Sorta like this, Paco?

Exactly like that, Jeff. Great illustration of the general principle.
