It's good to see that the people are not just standing by, waiting for the Democrats to come for their guns: "Second Amendment Sanctuary Movement Spreads To Kentucky" (including Harlan County, the principal setting for one of my favorite television series, Justified).

ReplyDeleteI have the DVD set of Season One of Justified sitting there, unwatched.
ReplyDeleteI didn't manage to sit down and watch Chernobyl. I didn't intend to "binge-watch", but great merciful Zeus, I could not turn away. One thing that dumbfounded me was this, about the blown open reactor core: it was spewing out twice the radiation released by the Hiroshima bomb every hour, hour after hour.
Another thing that struck me was the Pripyat hospital nurses dumping the firemen's gear in the basement, where it remains to this day. Jeremy Wade, in the River Monsters episode where he went fishing for Wells catfish in the Chernobyl cooling pond, took a peak though the hospital basement windows, and his decimeter went off warning him that the radiation was dangerous, 30 years later.

Still yet another typo, dammit: DID manage to watch...
ReplyDeleteMore coffee, please.
Some wag just suggested that Trump's half-impeachment means his first term as Pres doesn't count in term limit, so he gets to run 2 more times.
ReplyDeleteBut the someone else pointed out that Bill Clinton was impeached in the House but not in the Senate, so strike that theory of added term. Anyway of course it won't make a lot of difference how many terms.
