Well, that didn't take long
Virginia's progs are really letting their freak flags fly, now that the Democrats have captured both houses of the legislature (along with the governor's office). They're not only all-in on gun control, they also want to override local zoning ordinances in order to push multi-family dwellings in what are currently single-family suburban developments: "Democrats Seek To Outlaw Suburban, Single-Family House Zoning, Calling It Racist And Bad For The Environment".

And the irony is...Dimocrats are racist and bad for the environment. They just don't seem to know it.
ReplyDeleteOr admit it.
EVERYONE must live in the Projects.
ReplyDeleteAnything different is, of course, raycisst.
BTW, it's not just middle-class suburbia they want to destroy, it's the middle class itself (who just aren't suitably reliable Democrat voters).
ReplyDeleteObama tried this when he decreed that cities could annex their suburbs and put public housing in them. It didn't work, because the suburbs fought back. They didn't want public housing in their neighborhoods, and they didn't want to be subject to the higher taxes of the cities. It's a blatant attempt to suck in more money and dilute the conservative vote, and apparently the Democrats haven't let go of it.
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought Civil War 2.0 would start in Texas.
ReplyDeleteNo, it'll be Virginia.
For my part, Civil War 2.5 sbould be California Here vs. California There.
Coastal California vs Inland California?
ReplyDeleteThe Oregon legislature (democrat controlled, natch) passed such a measure earlier this year. Their bat-s**t crazy governor signed it.
ReplyDeleteComing soon to urban areas everywhere -- arcologies.
arcologies

In Robert Silverberg's The World Inside ... All the needs of the inhabitants are provided inside the building – food is grown outside and brought into the building – so the idea of going outside is heretical and can be a sign of madness.
I wonder if they have an arbitrary age limit, like in Logan's Run?
