Well, JeffS, I was in a house in Idyllwild* recently that was a similar "time capsule", except it was not avocado green, but bright, screaming red and gold.
Really bright red.
(*In the mountains above Palm Springs, where such things are surprisingly common.)
After leaving the house, everything outside seemed to be a rather intense green. I wondered if that was the intention (it was in the forest, after all, making trees even more green).
