When it rains it pours

In addition to the Iowa disaster, the Democrats are apparently not working and playing well together at the DNC (H/T: JeffS).

"Thy hand, great Anarch! lets the curtain fall;
And universal Darkness buries All."

That's the closing couplet of Alexander Pope's The Dunciad, and a fitting motto for the Democrats' not so good, bad, terrible election year. And I can't stop smiling!

Update: It was only a matter of time - and not a lot of that - before some donk blamed President Trump for the Iowa implosion.

Update II: The Babylon Bee has the most likely explanation of the mess in Iowa - "Democrats In Chaos After Being Forced To Do Math For First Time".

The Roman gladiatorial games couldn't have been as entertaining as the current Democratic Party. Loose the lions!

It's like watching the lions turn on each other. I wonder what the old Romans munched on in lieu of popcorn.

Bread, Paco. That's where the phrase "bread and circuses" came from.

Not as crunchy as popcorn, though.

Paco: Fricasseed flamingo tongues, bread, sea urchins, giraffe meat, jelly fish, ostrich and many other tasty treats, all washed down with garum(fermented fish).
Romans just loved their garum; they even put it in their desserts.

I recollect reading somewhere about the Romans' fondness for garum. Sounds perfectly foul.

Garum = ever have nuoc mam? It's a Vietnamese fish sauce that kind of tastes like a saltier soy sauce. I don't know how the Romans used their version, but it was made the same way the Vietnamese (and other Asian populations) make it. I've used nuoc mam (sparingly) while making certain Asian dishes (I got mine from Amazon). Disclaimer: I also like Vegemite.

My tastebuds are just too plebeian (in the non-Roman sense, of course) to appreciate anything so exotic.
